On Sunday, October 6th, Matthew Walker, HSE Manager at Cebo Holland, achieved an impressive athletic feat by completing the Ironman in Barcelona-Calella (Spain).

 

Reflecting on his achievement, Matthew said: “After three-quarters of a year of training and mentally and physically preparing for this moment, with lots of support and understanding from my family, and plenty of encouragement from friends and colleagues, I completed my Ironman in Barcelona-Calella this past Sunday, October 6th. I really hit a wall in those last 10 km! But through sheer willpower and determination, I managed to push through and finish, with the ultimate reward being the red carpet, the Ironman arch at the finish line, and the title of Ironman.”

The Ironman Barcelona-Calella is a prestigious event consisting of 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling, and a marathon run of 42.2 km. The course is known for its stunning surroundings and the tough physical challenges it presents to participants. This triathlon tests not only the body but also requires strong mental focus to reach the finish.
